Day 14 was our last day on the Big Island. We all got up early to shower, pack, eat breakfast, and receive grades. Then, it was off to Maui for a little rest and relaxation time in Lahaina. On the way to the airport, the luggage truck broke down. Heiau rocks. This was the second of our unfortunate events. Luckily, another truck was able to get to the broken down truck in time to load our luggage and get it to the airport in time for us to take off.
In Maui, the kids were able to lay out by the pool, shop, and go out to eat. In addition, several decided to get up at 3am and travel up to the summit of Haleakala. This is 10,000 feet up...we were able to see the sunrise above the clouds. On our way down from Haleakala, we found out that Phoenix was experiencing a horrible sandstorm and it was effecting travel. Of course this is where we were headed that evening on our flight back home to the mainland. This was the third round of bad news for us in a short amount of time. Heiau rocks...

FYI
For those of you true blog followers, I would encourage you to go back into the old pics and video because we have added a lot of video and pics since returning home, and we are still working on completing the blog. It is time consuming! But, we enjoy doing it. In addition, each Whiteland and Batesville HS student will be adding their own reflections and pics. They don't know this yet, but we feel like this would be a great addition to the blog. Girls, if you are following the blog, instructions will be emailed to you soon :).
